Transplants have been occurring at the University of Michigan Transplant Center since the first transplant in Michigan was performed here in 1964. We perform approximately 408 transplants for children and adults annually, making us the largest and most experienced transplant center in Michigan, and the only one performing pediatric liver transplants. The University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children's Hospital is consistently rated among the nation's best children's hospitals in all ten pediatric specialties in the U.S. News Media Group's edition of "America's Best Children's Hospitals."
