The main mechanic resolves around changing a goomba's direction so it falls into a spike pit. I already knew you could do it by damage boosting, but this puzzle also makes you do it by having the goomba get blocked by a fish. Figuring that part out allows you to cross the spike pit twice (first time to hit the hidden block, second time to win).
