UN ambassadors react to Haley resignation

(9 Oct 2018) Many of Nikki Haley's colleagues at the United Nations are saying they are shocked by the announcement of her resignation. The US Ambassador to the UN abruptly announced Tuesday she is resigning at the end of the year. "I regret that she is leaving because we had a good working and personal relations despite all the differences that we were and are having," said Vassily Nebenzia, Russian Ambassador to the United Nations. Francois Delattre, French Ambassador to the United Nations, said Haley was "one of the most talented, most authentic US government officials that I have ever met." Haley's resignation is raising fresh questions about the Trump administration and about the outspoken diplomat's own political ambitions.
