BREAKING: Plumes of smoke billow over east London as flames shoot out of flats PLUMES of smoke can be seen billowing over east London after a fire broke out in an apartment block. Flames could be seen shooting out of two third-storey windows in Turin Street, Bethnal Green. White smoke then engulfed the block and all surrounding buildings. Ten fire crews sped to the scene as the blaze spread to the roof of the four-storey block. A spokesman from LFB, said: "Ten fire engines and 72 firefighters and officers are tackling a flat fire on Turin Street in Bethnal Green.
