As far as I can tell, the first video of this glitch was uploaded by 'Rebellion142' on December 9th, 2016:

Based on this video I tested it myself and came up with this video ; ) I took it a lot further of course to see what was possible - how far I could go and what I could see beyond the confines of the cave.
