On our first visit to Khan Younis Zoo, Gaza, we were exposed to a new level of animal suffering. Tiger Laziz, thought to be the last remaining tiger in the Gaza Strip, was a picture of pure misery as he paced in his tiny cage, little more than skin and bones. Three monkeys lay listlessly on the hard floor, having lost all hope. Two porcupines were imprisoned in a broken-down cage which was so small they could hardly move. It became increasingly obvious why this place had been referred to by some as the “worst zoo in the world”. Now there is a chance to save all the animals at Khan Younis Zoo and we want to take it. But we need your support. We need to raise 40,000 Euros to rescue Laziz and his fellow animals and provide them with a lifelong, species-appropriate home! Please take action and donate.
