The Studley Park Enterprise Limited (SPEL) has been granted environmental clearance to begin the rehabilitation of the existing Barbados Bay Jetty in Studley Park, Tobago. The EMA issued the Certificate of Environmental Clearance to the company for "the Refurbishment and Expansion of the Loading Jetty". A release from SPEL says the CEC covers coastal or offshore construction or modification and dredging activities. It says RJB Building & Civil Engineering Contractors Limited was contracted under a design-build arrangement and is now fully mobilised to implement the project on behalf of SPEL. The estimated completion time for works is mid-January 2019. The jetty is purposed to facilitate the berthing of barges for the transportation and export of aggregate and importation of other construction material.
