Edelrid's 2014 award-winning rope line contains the thinnest and lightest half rope - the Flycatcher 6.9 and the thinnest and lightest single rope - the Corbie 8.9 (which is actually triple rated - single, half, and twin). They also have developed cool new technologies like TouchTec and DuoTec. TouchTec is a tactile and visible change at the ends of the rope to warn when you're getting close to lowering off the end. DuoTec is a visible change in the sheath color, used as a middle mark. It's unique in that, unlike other bipatter or bicolor ropes, the DuoTec ropes do not actually change the weave of sheath, eliminating any air pockets or inconsistency within the sheath at the location of the change. TouchTec is available in the Python TouchTec 10.0 rope and DuoTec will be incorporated into the Boa DuoTec 9.8 and the Anniversary DuoTec 9.7 ropes.
