I know. The thought of buffing the homing launcher ... To a helicopter pilot, it's like ... Just wrong.

But, I imagine a lot of people would sacrifice being more vulnerable to helicopters in return for being more capable against jets. So ... By doing a little give and take, perhaps something could be done to make the homing launcher less effective against helicopters (i.e. nerfed), yet more effective against jets (buffed)?

Looking at how the jets and helicopters fly - they obviously work very differently. Helicopters rely more on evading the homing via cover; whereas jets rely on just dodging the homing launcher purely (no cover, etc.).

So, by making the homing launcher faster - it can target the jet more. Meanwhile, the nerf to the homing launcher - a 3X slowdown on the lock on - doesn't matter so much against jets, since a jet will be high up, and therefore exposed for longer than a helicopter.

Helicopters now have a lot more time to attack when popping out of cover. In fact, it would be quite difficult to get locked on unless flying high and way out of cover.

The extra speed would be a pain, though - it is a give and take thing; everyone has to be made happy.

I don't know. I'm just throwing ideas out there. The main feeling behind the video is that something needs to be done anyway. The way the homing launcher is now ... It's not really making many people happy other than trolls. It unnecessarily hinders helicopters (which are already extremely vulnerable; see here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VArryZmMqg4 ), while not doing much against jets (which are really pretty powerful).

With the gunrunning DLC coming up, I think it's time helicopters had the much needed boost they've been waiting for ever since the homing launcher released.
