As 2011 drew to a close Darin Epsilon has become one of the most in demand DJs in North America, his Perspectives radio show just celebrated its five year anniversary and his 'Metamorph' release on Mesmeric would have to be one of the top new school progressive house releases of the year. For Replug's first release of 2012 and 20th overall we see Darin making his debut on the label with his 'Bahamut' single which comes with remixes from Cid Inc. and Fiord. Darin's Bahamut' original presents some pulsating rhythms and clattering percussion elements which forms an irresistibly futuristic groove early on. The liquid smooth sheets of synths push the composition forward as a second wall of low end frequencies adds even more drive. This leads to a drop that's filled with unique chord changes and acid styled synth mods that bubble with a smouldering character. As the tension builds to a boil it quickly gets stripped and filtered away before the groove reappears for a smooth finish.

It was what you would call a banner year for Cid Inc. in 2011, with remixes of Quivver, Barry Jamieson, Deepfunk and Mohrr for Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat label Henri's popularity grew as legions of new fans become hooked on his revolutionary sound. 2012 promises to be even bigger with Q1 projects on the way for Natura Sonoris, microCastle and Iboga. Cid Inc.'s 'Bahamut' interpretation comes with an enthralling bass line that's got a hum of electricity and ultra sonic pulse about it. As the drive pushes forward the introduction of some light airy pads and effervescent atmospherics creates that veritable hypnotic swirl that your dance floor should be completely entrenched in. The main drop sees the 'Bahamut' lead slowly appear as the aerated synth lines build some quick dynamics towards the compositions sizable apex.

Barton & Hayden Strom; brothers, studio partners and seasoned producers whose achievements to date encompass 4 albums, a fruitful international touring career and an array of heavyweight productions spread across their three monikers Antix, Fiord and Triangle. Here under their Fiord moniker they've delivered a stripped down, dark room monster of an interpretation. A heavily infectious bottom end with a resonating pulse combined with intricately placed electronics and sizzling synths create a groove to die for to close the package out.
