This video presents the Country Statement to the 34th Session of the FAO Asia Pacific Regional Conference (APRC 34, 9-13 April 2018, Fiji) by Head of Delegation of the Philippines, Hansel Oroceo Didulo. The Philippines recognizes the work of FAO and appreciates the progress and lesson learned and concurs with the five regional initiatives, while taking into account the challenges of climate change and the need to encourage the empowerment of women. FAO is urged to continue its support to family farming and for the 2030 Goals and Targets. Family farming has a vital role in achieving food security, income creation and appropriate management of natural resources. Youth should also be supported. The Codex and food safety actions should continue as priorities. GIAHS is emphasized as a model for development.
