Rescue Dog Khronos Goes Kayaking...For One Minute

We're thrilled to have a new family member, a shepherd mix rescued from a West Virginia shelter by SPARRO in PA. When you adopt a shelter dog, you're changing the world for a precious being who might otherwise not get the chance at a home and a family. There are always unknowns, and we had no idea whether Khronos had grown up on a chain, had been a stray, or had received any kind of house or obedience training before he reached his rescue organization. Once we learned Khronos liked the water, we couldn't wait to take a family kayaking trip with him down our river. But alas, as so often happens, our visions of the perfect trip immediately went awry. We didn't want to risk losing him eight miles from home, so our choices were a long line or riding in the kayak with mommy. Neither of which ended well! Maybe we need to start with training first! Don't worry, Mom's taking him swimming today to make up for it. We will start small and work our way up.
