Unbeaten 147-pound champion Danny "Swift" Garcia returns to Philadelphia to fight in front of his hometown fans for the first time since October 2010, when he takes on tough Colombian Samuel Vargas on Saturday, November 12, 2016. This fight will be broadcast on Spike at 9pm ET / 8pm CT as part of the Premier Boxing Champions series. "The city of Philadelphia needs a champion. They need someone to give them a hometown show. There's a lot of excitement with the Eagles and Sixers right now, and I'm going to give them another thing to cheer for," said Garcia—who will be fighting at Temple University’s Liacouras Center. The scheduled 10-round, non-title fight will be Garcia’s last bout before a blockbuster title-unification showdown in early 2017 against fellow 147-pound champion Keith Thurman at a site to be determined.
