Interesting tip: When Wire Sponge starts to change red and gets ready to do the lightning attack, if you stand at the far left or right corner, the lightning can't hit you since it won't reach that far. When Wire Sponge starts to shoot out his tentacle uh... Thingys, only the first one or two of those will target you. So if you dodge that those, you should only have to worry about destroying the rest when they land without taking damage unless you walk into one of them.
