CSX Train Q430, the nightly northbound freight to Selkirk Yard, makes some excellent noise with its Conrail horn as it rolls through Peekskill. Tonight, Q430 picked up some junk in Croton West Yard, in the form of a pair of M7's that are being sent back to Bombardier to be rebuilt, due to the fact that one of them caught fire, which resulted in structural damage. Tonight's consist is SD40-2's 8832 on the point with 8833 and 8846 and GP40-2 6236 trailing, with 16 trash cars, a box car for a rider car, the two M7's, and another box car to hang the marker on. Once the train goes by, we walk through the parking lot and watch the train round the curve at Roa Hook, go across the causeway at Annsville Creek, and continue on its way.
