Find out more at http://www.rmit.edu.au Students had the opportunity to visit landfills around Ho Chi Min City . So here is an idea of what it looks like. Yes it did stink! You will see how bad it was from us wearing masks, and that did not stop the smell. The big black poles sticking up are the tubes (wells) that will collect the methane to take it to the generator. The blue plastic is put on to stop the smell - some hope -- until the garbage trucks come at night to dump their loads. It is weird that the best view comes from being on top of a pile of rubbish. That is because the whole of the Ho Chi Minh area is a big flood plain, and so flat.
