Today marks the start of the second annual CGTN Global Media Summit and the 8th Video Media Forum. The two kicked off side by side in the southwestern Chinese city of Chongqing. Around 500 media experts from leading global organizations will explore the future of media development, and discuss new technologies under the theme of opening and connecting the world. The founding of China Media Group, of which CGTN is a part, earlier this year coincides with the 60th anniversary of television in China. In his opening speech, CGTN Controller Jiang Heping said the network will achieve six fundamental redefinitions: television, content, role of technology, audience, super desk mechanism, and the scope of opinion. He says these goals will make the network a modern multimedia organization. Since its launch on December 31, 2016, China Global Television Network has contributed to shaping a new global media landscape. #CGTN#MediaSummit Subscribe to us on YouTube: https://goo.gl/lP12gA Download our APP on Apple Store (iOS): https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cctvnews-app/id922456579?l=zh&ls=1&mt=8 Download our APP on Google Play (Android): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.imib.cctv Follow us on: Website: https://www.cgtn.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ChinaGlobalTVNetwork/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cgtn/?hl=zh-cn Twitter: https://twitter.com/CGTNOfficial Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/CGTNOfficial/ Tumblr: http://cctvnews.tumblr.com/ Weibo: http://weibo.com/cctvnewsbeijing
