Using insect repellent to fix fogged car headlights

So I was reading some Landover forum, they were talking about fixing fogged plastic headlights. Thought I would give it a go. Good results, will be interesting to see how they fare over time. However at the moment they look as good as the headlight restoring kits i have purchased recently and at this price i can afford to do it more often. All you need to do is find an insect repellent containing DEET Diethyl-meta-toluamide (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DEET) Aeroguard in Australia worked fine.
