Common Sense, a joint project between Intel Research & UC Berkeley, consists of cellular connected mobile air quality sensor devices. They take readings of carbon monoxide, ozone, nitrogen oxide levels and other chemical air qualities, are monitored in real-time over a cellphone network and mapped. One goal of Intel's is to reduce the size and cost of the sensor components and integrate them into mobile cell phones, thereby creating a robust global air quality measurement network.
