The Ark of the Covenant (Hebrew: אָרוֹן הַבְּרִית‎ ʾĀrôn Hābərît, modern pron. Aron Habrit), also known as the Ark of the Testimony, is a chest described in Book of Exodus as solely containing the Tablets of Stone on which the Ten Commandments were inscribed. According to some traditional interpretations of the Book of Exodus, Book of Numbers, and the Letter to the Hebrews the Ark also contained Aaron's rod, a jar of manna and the first Torah scroll as written by Moses; however, the first of the Books of Kings says that at the time of king Solomon, the Ark contained only the two Tablets of the Law. According to the Book of Exodus, the Ark was built at the command of God, in accordance with the instructions given to Moses on Mount Sinai. God was said to have communicated with Moses "from between the two cherubim" on the Ark's cover. Rashi and some Midrashim suggest that there were two arks - a temporary one made by Moses himself, and a later one constructed by Bezalel.

ארון הברית, הקרוי גם ארון האלוהים או ארון העדות, הוא הארון בו נשמרו לוחות הברית, לפי המסורת היהודית. ארון זה הושם בתוך קודש הקדשים שבבית המקדש. הוא צופה זהב ועוטר בזר מזהב.

Als Bundeslade wird ein Kultgegenstand des Volkes Israel bezeichnet. Sie enthielt nach Darstellung der Tora die Steintafeln mit den Zehn Geboten, die Moses von Gott erhielt. Die Bundeslade galt demnach beim Auszug Israels aus Ägypten unter Mose als Garant für Gottes Gegenwart inmitten des Volkes. Sie ist bis heute Symbol für den Bund Gottes mit dem Volk Israel (daher der Name „Bundeslade"). 
Die Lade war der biblischen Beschreibung (Ex 25,10-22) zufolge eine mit Gold überzogene Truhe aus Akazienholz, auf der zwei Cherubim thronten, die schützend ihre Flügel über die mit zwei Tragebalken versehene Truhe ausbreiteten.

Paktens ark (ארון הברית på hebraisk: aron habrit) er beskrevet i Den hebraiske Bibelen som et gullskrin som var 2,5 alen langt, 1,5 alen bredt og 1,5 alen høyt (1 alen ≈ 50 cm). Den var kledd i rent gull både innvendig og utvendig. På toppen var det to kjeruber som så mot hverandre. To staver var festet til skrinet, slik at det kunne bæres. Paktens ark var en viktig gjenstand som sto i Tabernakelet og siden i Tempelet. Arken og dets gjemmested er beskrevet i Klagesangene som Israels skjønnhet.

De Ark van het Verbond, ook wel Ark des Verbonds, was het centrale, allerheiligste voorwerp in het jodendom. Het was een draagbare kist, waarin de twee stenen tafelen met daarop de Tien geboden bewaard werden. De Ark werd gemaakt tijdens de exodus, bij de Sinaïberg. Hij stond in het Heilige der Heiligen, de binnenste ruimte van de tabernakel, en later in dezelfde ruimte in de tempel te Jeruzalem.

L'Arche d'alliance, en hébreu אֲרוֹן הָעֵדוּת, Aron ha'Edout, « Arche du témoignage », est le coffre qui, dans la Bible, contient les tables de la Loi (Dix Commandements) données à Moïse sur le mont Sinaï. C'est un coffre oblong de bois recouvert d'or. Le propitiatoire surmonté de deux chérubins, qui en forme le couvercle, est considéré comme le trône, la résidence terrestre de YHWH (Exode 25:22). El Arca de la Alianza, Arca del Pacto, o Arca del Convenio (hebreo: ארון הברית), nombrada también como el Arca de Yahveh o Arca del Testimonio, era un objeto sagrado que guardaba las tablas de piedra que contenían los Diez Mandamientos, la vara de Aaron que reverdeció y el Maná que cayó del cielo. Representaba la alianza (pacto o convenio) entre Dios y el pueblo judío.
