The nominations period for the 2020 Breakthrough Prizes is open to the public until the April 1, 2019 deadline. Each prize is worth $3 million. Up to four Breakthrough Prizes will be awarded to outstanding researchers in the field of Life Sciences with one prize specifically recognizing advances in Parkinson’s disease or other neurological disorders. One Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics and one Breakthrough Prize in Mathematics will be awarded. In addition, up to three New Horizons in Physics and three New Horizons in Mathematics Prizes are given out to junior researchers.
