Grand Wailea Managing Director Matt Bailey challenged employees to beat the hotel's previous Visitor Industry Charity Walk fund raising totals and raise $32,000 for Maui charities this year. Bailey pledged to shave his head if employees met the goal -- and through many activities by various departments in addition to the May 14 walk, the staff raised $50,000. With triumphant employees and possibly bewildered and bemused hotel guests watching, Jeanene Sebstad, a senior hairstylist at the hotel's Spa Grande, helped Bailey keep his word Monday morning, first with a buzz-cutter and then, with a straight razor.
