On June 20th, 1782, our Founding Fathers placed this majestic creature at the center of the Great Seal of the United States To commemorate this historic day and to celebrate our National Bird, June 20th has now been declared American Eagle Day. For over a decade, Senators, Representatives, and Governors from Coast to Coast have passed special resolutions and proclamations recognizing this commemorative day. This June 20th, on "American Eagle Day", please the American Eagle Foundation in celebrating the importance of our National Bird. We once almost lost this precious species due to our own mistakes. But We The People rose to the occasion and brought it back from the brink of extinction. On American Eagle Day, and every day, let us continue to treasure and protect the American Bald Eagle all across this great land.
