A group of climbers witnessed a volcanic eruption on May 11 at Mount Merapi in Central Java, Indonesia. Indonesian authorities said the eruption launched ash up to 5,500 meters into the air. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries, although one person was reported to have fallen when running for cover.
