We so excited to share with you what we recorded of the Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse the longest of the century that took place on Friday the 27th July 2018. I Grabbed my camera and zoomed in on the Moon as much as possible and captured the start of the eclipse to various phases thereafter till it was total blood moon and of course Mars when it was totally aligned with the Moon, super cool. Please check out the very bizarre photos that I took. A total lunar eclipse took place on 27 July 2018. The Moon passed through the centre of the Earth's shadow in what was the first central lunar eclipse. Here is a little background on a Lunar Eclipse. A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes within Earth's umbra (shadow). As the eclipse begins, Earth's shadow first darkens the Moon slightly. Then, the Earth's shadow begins to "cover" part of the Moon, turning it a dark red-brown color (typically – the color can vary based on atmospheric conditions). The Moon appears to be reddish because of Rayleigh scattering (the same effect that causes sunsets to appear reddish) and the refraction of that light by Earth's atmosphere into its umbra.[6] The Moon's brightness is exaggerated within the umbral shadow.
