How to Install phpBB Forum?

Hi there, welcome to this video. In this one, you're about to learn how to install phpBB and start running a professional looking forum.

I noticed a while ago that many videos on the Internet are very outdated and therefore, far more complex when it comes to installing this software.

For this reason, I decided to make this video explaining the "modern" way of doing this now in days.

What do you need?

Well, there are few things you need before you start running your forum this includes:

1. Web-Host Provider

A web-host is a company that provides some space on their many servers where you can save all the information from your website. Also they connect your website to the Internet so other people can visit it.

2. Domain name

A domain is basically the internet's web address for a website for instance:

- Prositetutorials.org
- Google.com
- Youtube.com

Only to name a few of them but I guess you get the idea. When you start a new website you must have an address where people can find it. The great thing about Hostgator is they offer a free domain name when you register to their service.

3. You can also create a subdomain.

However, if you already have the previous tools and you simply want to create a forum as a supplement to your main website. You can create a subdomain name. For instance:

You website is called: yourname.com

You can create a subdomain called, forum.yourname.com. As a result, you can install phpBB over there and later leave a link on your main website to your new forum. This way you don't need to purchase domain name.

If you are looking to this then please check our video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTW_jVyYsD8

Where I explain in detail how you can get a sub-domain in a matter of seconds.
