As you probably know I own and run an Amazon FBA business that will do around about $2M this year selling 100% goods imported from China so to me the Trump tariffs are a big deal and I wanted to talk about it with you. So what exactly is a trade war and why is it causing so much worry for Amazon FBA and online sellers right now? So let's break it down with a few definitions. A trade tariff is just an "import tax" on products imported from another country. A trade war is where Country A decides to increase import taxes on products imported from Country B. Country B doesn’t like that and retaliates.. causing Country A to do more of the same. And you can see how this can escalate back and forth into what we call a trade war. So that's whats happening right now between the United States and China. Various shots have been fired from both sides this year. And this month, Trump has now put into effect a 25% tariff on $250 billion worth of goods imported from China. As you can probably tell by my accent, I don't really care about American politics - but what I do care about is the impact this will have on my Amazon FBA business, or on your Amazon business or on your dropshipping or ecommerce store. Because let’s face it goods being imported from China into the United states is the single biggest flow of products in the world. What does this mean for you and I? What goods are affected?
