1 lb of chop chicken thigh
1 Tbsp of salt
1 Tbsp of chicken flavor mix
1 Tbsp of dark soy sauce
1 Tbsp of sweet soy sauce
1 Tbsp of white sugar
1/3 cup black peppercorns
5-6 cloves of garlic
Couple slices of ginger
Good amount of slice strip ginger

I don’t use fish sauce in this dish whatsoever because during this stage women still have heavy menstrual cycle. Salt is perfect to use.

In any case, women are encouraged to eat mainly rice soup (viewed as neutral food) loaded with salt and pepper to make them thirsty; and to drink hot tea, traditional medicine and rice wine to induce sweating. We are mainly used Fish, Pork or Chicken.

Aing phleung may include steambaths, during which women inhale medicinal vapors, and massage, “which is a highly effective method of expelling blood from the post-parturient woman’s uterus,”

Postpartum Dietary Practices. During the postpartum period women adhere to special dietary practices. A woman is to eat spicy food, usually including fish, pork or chicken and prepared with black pepper or ginger or both. Women also abstain from eating some foods, including fruits, during Sor Sai Karchey . Only Cambodian people would understand this type of food. From time to time I still make this because I like the spice in it but I reduce the salt for normal intake.
