Richard Watson is a writer, speaker and thinker who helps organisations to think ahead, with a particular focus on strategic foresight. As well as being the founder of What's Next, he is co-founder of Futures House Europe (a scenario planning specialist) and is the author of the best selling book Future Files (sixteen worldwide editions).
Richard has worked with, amongst others, General Electric, IBM, Ikea, KPMG, London Business School, McDonald's, McKinsey & Company, Nestlé, PepsiCo, Samsung, Shell, Virgin and Westfield. Subject matter expertise includes global trends, scenario planning and innovation.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
