I am thankful that when this word was spoken that it was recorded because as I listen to it again this morning I realize that while our Heavenly Father spoke the first part of this word over my pastor, it could apply to many who have been faithfully running this race over the years.

What doesn’t come through in the recording is perhaps one of the most amazing parts of the story and evidence of God’s amazing ways. I was approached by one of the members of the church before the service. He said, “You got your instructions right?” I looked at him in complete bewilderment for several seconds before saying to him, “I have no idea what you’re talking about.” About that time one of our pastors came up. She had been secretly preparing a sermon based on a word that she felt the LORD speaking to her. She explained, “To illustrate this message we’re going to be running a relay race through the generations and you’ll be taking the baton.”

I couldn’t help it. I fell apart right in front of her and started frantically turning pages through my prayer book. I pointed with tears in my eyes and said, “These are the very first words that the LORD told me to speak over Pastor Len this morning.” There we read it together, “You took the baton.” God is good and how He orchestrates two people who have no idea what the other is doing to work in concert in this manner is beyond me. Clearly it is supernatural.

So on what could technically be considered as the first day of my 45th year the LORD used me as a messenger and I was given the opportunity to deliver this message. I hope it blesses you as well.
