Madang Buai Sellers and PMV Operators Making Losses Due to Collapsed Banab Bridge

The supply and cost of transporting betel nut in Madang have increased following the collapse of the Banab Bridge last Thursday. Thirty-year-old Hubert Fanda from East Sepik told EMTV News in Madang, they are spending more money than their budget. He says the cost of transporting one bag of betel nut is six kina and with 90 bags, he’s expected to spend at least 540 kina, charged as boat and ground handling fees along.
