On 30th December 2017, what started off as a visit to the Vasai fort (a.k.a. a desperate attempt to make the last weekend of the year go by without any form of FOMO) turned out to be quite an eventful day filled with exploration. Who knew a 45 minutes local train journey could take you to such beautiful under explored places of Maharashtra. Before this day, Vasai only came up during jokes that the cooler people of SoBo made. But this experiences reminded me of my days in Jorhat, how my relationship with the locals helped me understand deeply Assamese culture.
