Rainstorms hit Guangdong, causing floods and casualties

At least two people have died and 136,100 affected by heavy rainstorms in 96 towns in south China’s  Guangdong Province. Flash floods trapped villagers, damaged roads and houses and caused power outages. The rainstorms were caused by a tropical depression which strengthened into the 16th typhoon of the year on Sunday. According to Guangdong Meteorological Service, the typhoon is expected to land on Tuesday night in the province's western coastal area.
