This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Spaying and Castration of dogs are  human ways  to carry on  Animal Birth Control (ABC) & Anti Rabies Vaccination (ARV) Programs to reduce "The Menace Of Dogs" in every towns and cities of the world. 90% of Human Rabies occur due to bite of rabid dog. Control of dog population and vaccination is very important because 55,000 people die due to Rabies in all over the world and 20,000 people lost their lives in India per year due to Rabies (As per WHO in 2009).To make Rabies free country, every year,  Sterilization of 70 to 75% of dog population becomes compulsory.

Dr. Tsewang is an Animal Activist in Ladakh. He serves Ladakh Animal Care Society. This initiative is attracting animal lovers and caretakers from across globe..
The stray dog population in Leh has increased drastically. The birth control programme targeted to control the dog population and keep the population static hasn’t been successful. Lack of civic sense among the people is another reason that has led to increasing stray dog menace in Leh. According to SNM Hospital Data, around 585 dog bites cases have been registered in one year i.e. from January , 2013 to January 2014. Now with the Ladakh Animal Care Society taking an initiative, the things are seeking stability and solution.
