In her last book, "Seven Fallen Feathers," she chronicled the heartbreaking fate of seven Indigenous teens in Thunder Bay, confronting isolation, racism, and death. In this book, and the topic of her 2018 CBC Massey Lectures series, she widens the lens to look at the legacy of cultural genocide against Indigenous peoples, and particularly the tragedy of youth suicide.
