Pacific Sängerbund - Pacific Singing Societies, Inc. is the umbrella organization for German choirs in California.  They are celebrating Its 113th Anniversary In 2018!
Every year, in February, the German Choirs on the West Coast take part in a Singing Fest.  In the past singers would meet in a different city anywhere from Oregon to Southern California. For the last few decades or so, this event has taken place mostly in the San Francisco Bay Area. Choirs from Oregon, the state of Washington or Southern California send a delegation representing their Choirs. 
All the Choirs belong to an umbrella organization called, “The Pacific Saengerbund,” or the Pacific Singing Society.  This organization was originally founded in 1905.

Our hope is to attract young people to join us and experience the joy of singing. The German Volk songs are about every life situation and experience; we sing about nature; the sky and the see, meadows and forests; we sing lullabies and songs about animals, art songs and spirituals,  fare well and reunions; we sing operettas and drinking songs and more. 
Come and join us. Music and especially singing is good for your health.
