Samuel is still on the scene, but now we move our focus to Saul, the first king of Israel. The perfect human image of kingliness! And yet an utter failure. We most often think of Saul losing the kingdom because he disobeyed God, but if you pay very close attention to the text, that isn’t the reason.

This winter and spring, Pastor Fisk continues the Bible study series at Bethany Lutheran Church in Naperville, IL that goes through the Old Testament - teaching you to see Christ in the Old Testament. As Christ says in John 5:39, “You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me.” Join us on this journey through the Old Testament as it bears witness to Christ and him crucified for us sinners.
