A source walking animation is presented to the character, the feet bone's point locations for each keyframe are extracted and translated based on the terrain's normal. Points are interpolated in time with Catmull-Rom spline and the legs are animated with an inverse kinematics solver. Additionally, the body leans towards optimal weight center just like we do when walking on variable terrain and the head looks down or up to the destination. The character slows down when walking up or down.
This solution is inspired by ACIII's solution to generate leg movement for each leg separately based on where it will have to land. In proper game environment, ray casting will be used to determine the target for each foot.
Animation is placeholder. Still some tweaking to do but i'm very happy. For smaller characters and additional corrections it will be perfect.
