Dartmouth students and alumni join the members of the Rambling Grass bluegrass band on stage to sing a traditional Appalachian spiritual. The band came for a three-day visit to campus in May 2009 after meeting Dartmouth students on a March 2008 alternative spring break trip (ASB) to MacDowell County, West Virginia. The Tucker Foundation's Stevenson Appalachian Mountain Initiative sponsored the trip, which included several performances, a community jam session, and an informal dinner with students. Students and alumni seen in this video include Rory Gawler '05, general manager of the Dartmouth Outing Club; Mats Lemberger '06, assistant director of admissions and founder of the MacDowell County ASB; and Julia Tse '09, who lead the MacDowell County ASB in 2008 and helped organize the band's Dartmouth visit.
