Things I Like About iOS 11 What is going on guys Apple Fox here back again with another video. And although the iOS 11 isn't perfect, as mentioned in my previous video, there are so many great things about it. Now in this video I will focus on those things. It doesn't meccesarily need to be a feature, it's just something new and cool that I like about it. So let's just get started. The first thing I enjoy about the iOS 11 is the 3D touch for non 3D touch compatible devices. Not literally because we're talking about hardware and that has nothing to do with the iOS. But now you can do the same on iPhone 6 as on iPhone 6s for example. Let me explain. In the control center, on 3D touch compatible devices you can force press on most of these icons and get additional menus and stuff like that. Now it can also be performed on those older devices like iPhone 5s. So instead of force pressing, you just long press on it and you're getting the same menu. This as I said applies to many toggles in the control center. Including the brightness slider, camera toggles or even the timer options can be accessed without 3D touch, so I think Apple moved forward with this, even though it's not comparable with the real 3D touch. Unfortunately this doesn't apply to the icons on the homescreen, you cannot long press to make the toggles show up, because you long press to make them wiggle and that's the reason it doesn't work. The next thing I really love about it is the ability to customize the control center. You know we were hearing rumors, that the iOS 9 could bring customizable control center, same thing with the iOS 10 but it didn't happen. So I didn't really believe it could be reality in the iOS 11. In fact it works well. In the settings you can pick the icons and toggles you want to be part of your control center. You can even choose the order of those apps, it's really impressive especially from Apple that they decided to give us the ability to do so. Also the cellular data toggle is amazing. You know it only turns on and off the data but because it wasn't accessible before, it's really a big deal. I'm glad Apple finally focuses more on iPads. For a long period of time, iPads were just bigger iPhones, with some minor differences like folders being able to contain four apps in the row on the iPad and stuff like that. And it's been reliable and worked well just like everything from Apple. But the iPad pro with its power and potential to replace standard computer, defenitely needs more differenciated software. It can handle a lot more than the standard version of iOS. Amd that's what Apple started to focus on with the iOS 11. They introduced a new dock, similar to the one on macbook. It can contain a lot more apps than the regular dock. On the right side you have the 3 most used apps that you can access easily. The dock is also very easily accessible. Inside of any app, just sllide your finger up and there you will see it. Here you can either tap on the app to open it up, or just drag the application to the main portion of the screen and you'll basically activate the multitasking. It's very convenient and comfortable to use, it gives you a different feeling of the iPad. There are other great things iPads users can look forward to. For example the multitasking panel, looks a lot different, it's like the control center and the open apps alltogether. It looks different as I said but the way you get here is different as well. So just swipe your finger up to get to this redesigned control center slash multitasking panel. Also the keyboard has received some changes. So accessing other characters has been made a lot simpler, just easily swipe down on that particular letter to type the character. Drag and drop is another thing we can use in iOS 11. You just drag something like an app or file and drop it somewhere else. It works system wide and that's the reason why you can drop it anywhere. Also third party apps are supported. And the last but not least is the new animation when opening up apps. This is something I'll be looking at all the time, so I'm glad it's been changed. It seems to me that the app icon just pops up, it's really cool in my opinion and as I said this is something we'll be seeing everyday so a little refreshing change is definitely welcomed.
