SY1771 2-8-2 returns towards Diaobingshan with a 7 coach passenger train from Faku. The driver knows he's being filmed and is rather too enthusiastic with his use of the whistle on his approach to the tunnel ! This SY was built in 1999 and is the penultimate standard gauge steam loco built in the world (with the exception of Tornado). The last built, SY1772, which is plated as 1999 but was outshopped in early 2000, is also based on the TieFa system.
