This project was inpsired by expert knifemaker Walter Sorrells who recently posted a 2 hour knife making challenge. I chose to make a neck knife with a sheath, while he went with a forged, hidden tang knife with wooden handels.

However you go about it, this project is bound to be a challenge. But it's a good challenge, the kind where you really have to focus on what's important, roughing out the shapes, rethinking the design as you go, heat treating and tempering while you do other things... etc. For me it was great exercise that helped refine my priorities and strip the projecty down to bare bones.

Follow along and forge a knife, or just sit back and enjoy the show!

Tools used include Craftsman cordless drill, Harbor Freight metal files, Bostitch angle grinder, hammers, propane torches etc...
