To be Rita Hayworth or a French intellectual? Soley-Beltran shows how common perceptions of masculinity and femininity, beauty and intelligence, are still based on dated conceptual models assuming a mind/body split. Nobody should be asked to choose.

Soley-Beltran worked as a fashion model, got a PhD on the Sociology of Gender, researched intensely on body, beauty and identity, and won the 2015 Anagrama Essay Prize for her book Divine!
