TEDxRamallah is an event that brought together remarkable
people on three stages in Palestine, Lebanon and Jordan. From a single day event (16 April 2011) it turned to a year long initiative calling for the world's attention, creating momentum around the drive that is Palestine, resonating in pockets around the globe from Dubai, Riyadh, Olomouc, Budapest, Montreal, Boston-MIT and 14 other locations, with a total audience of 2,600.

TED is a global brand, yet we focused our efforts to make from TEDxRamallah an event and initiative relevant to those concerned, all the while keeping it insightful and inspiring to a global audience. TEDxRamallah is a platform that brings forward the realization that Palestine is a topic that goes beyond a country occupied, and beyond a refugee stranded. It is one that starts apprehending the very essence of Palestinians and Palestine, that they are after all, as rich a nation as every other nation.

We would like to thank Jamil Abu Wardeh for directing this video and Dubai's Chimney Pot for its execution along with the TEDxRamallah team.

About TEDx,
x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
