Carolyn Richards, at the young age of 42, has left this earth to be with her savior Jesus Christ. Carolyn died early Sunday morning, December 12, 2010 in the arms of her true love, Mike, her husband of 18 years. 
She is also survived by her two sons, Joshua and Jacob, her extended family and more friends than anyone could ever ask for. 
Carolyn was born in New York moved to California at the age of 3. In 1985, she started working at Gourmet Pie and stole not only the heart of Mike, but of our family and all the customers who walked through the doors. 
In 2004, Mike and Carolyn moved Gourmet Cafe to Los Alamitos and Carolyn was the heartbeat of the restaurant. You could walk through the door and be greeted with a warm smile or a big hug. She always made everyone feel welcome. Carolyn saw the world through the eyes of a child and approached each day with joy and excitement. She loved to spend time with her family whether it was at the river, in the desert, having dinner, playing Texas Hold'em or a quiet evening of Backgammon with her husband. Carolyn was willing to do anything for anybody, and if you were blessed to be someone she called a friend then she was all in. She loved to sing and dance, in fact at this very moment she is in heaven teaching the angels the Y.M.C.A.
