Brazilian rhythms such as Samba, Chorinho, Baião, Samba-funk or Frevo are being mixed with Jazz and and Funk-groove to create a very own style. The performance also features Rodrigo's very charming young son playing on stage with his father.

Born in 1967 in Campinas, São Paulo (Brazil), Rodrigo Botter Maio came to Europe in 1987 to study at the "Hochschule für Musik" in Graz, Austria. There he founded the "Jazz Via Brasil Group". After living in Austria for two years, one year in Rome and nearly two years in Boston where Rodrigo studied at the "Berklee College of Music" he moved to Zurich where he now lives and works. In each of these cities Rodrigo reformed the "Jazz Via Brasil Group" with local musicians. Rodrigo also teaches saxofon, flute, guitar and piano in his studio. Every two weeks, he leads an workshop for Brazilian Music and Jazz.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
