I decided to take a day trip to Leuven (Dutch) / Louvain (French) as I had been to Brussels before and wanted to check out a new city in Belgium. I was told that Leuven was a pretty university town and it certainly did not disappoint for it was quaint and charming. It is just 20 minutes by train from Brussels, so if you are looking for an alternative to Ghent or Bruges, why not check out Leuven?
