The 2018 season of Battlebots has been a crazy and destructive season. While Tormach was helping out behind the scenes, we managed to capture some footage of what it really takes to keep these robots in tip-top shape for competition.

Throughout the 2018 season there were multiple early mornings which quickly turned into late nights working on the team’s robots to prepare them for battle. There’s lots of moving parts behind the scenes at Battlebots outside of what is shown on TV to make all of this come to life. Lots of which come in the last days or even hours before the robot’s fight. Whether it’s trying to make weight, or improve the weapon of the robot, we had a blast helping! 

For those that don’t know what the Battlebots 2018 season is, it is a competition between team that create robots to fight. Each team is in charge of designing their robots to guidelines to keep the matches fair. They are then in charge of running the robots during the battle from outside the safety enclosure. Within the cage, there are multiple obstructions that can be triggered in the arena including saw blades and hammers. We were lucky enough to be the sponsor of Tombstone who took home the “nut” on last year’s season.
