This is a really fun Django-tune to play: R-Vingt Six. It is the perfect vehicle to fire all the Hot Club de France Grappelli-licks (I'm talking about a young Grappelli) I've been studying for years now. The trick is, of course, to make music out of it. That is not an easy thing to accomplish but playing with this trio and one of the legends of gypsy jazz and music in general, Stochelo Rosenberg, is so unbelievably inspiring; I tell ya: if he can't make you reach a higher level nobody can. Nonnie and Nous'che swingin' real hard as usual! I might be playing with the Rosenberg Trio and Bireli Lagrene on the 25th of june in Samois; can't wait, a dream come true!
