When the tree hit the house it broke just past the roof edge, so I wasn't able to cut the butt off as the top section would have been butt heavy and would have done damage to the side of the house. So, since I'd neglected to bring the GRCS lowering and lifting device, I set up a five to one pulley system, which took a while to do...then Robert, who is new to tree work, got a surprise, when it swung away from the house and toward him. He reacted quickly, moving to a safe spot between the tree trunks, and held the rope!!
